A journal for spiritual and not-so-spiritual thoughts, by Rev. Elizabeth Jones.
Lent, Day 37: Horror
Day 37: Horror
Imagine my horror when I saw my 3 year-old daughter with school scissors in her hand. She wanted to cut her hair and make it “pretty!” She had cut her bangs off! (Perhaps it is just as well I don’t have a photo.)
If you and I reflect further, God loves us anyway. Even when we do silly stuff.
Elizabeth has been involved:
- as hospice chaplain at Unity Hospice in Chicago, Illinois
- as pastor at St. Luke's Christian Community Church, Morton Grove, Illinois
- in various ministry and prayer-related activities
- as a commissioned and endorsed member in the Federation of Christian Ministries
- holds an M.Div. degree and is working on a D.Min. from Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary
- holds a Certificate in Alcohol and Drug Counseling in Illinois (IAODAPCA)
Elizabeth has ministered as a hospice chaplain, at churches, care centers and retirement communities. Her spiritual and theological training, experience and natural less-anxious presence allow her to bring strength and comfort to persons in need. Elizabeth is also a daughter and sister, a wife and mother, has four healthy, curious and strong-minded children in their twenties and thirties, and a loving husband who works as a senior editor at a trade publication in Chicago.
